Fire Extinguisher Sales and Service

We sell, inspect, recharge, and hydrotest portable fire extinguishers. California Title 19 requires annual maintenance on portable extinguishers, internal examination at six years for rechargeable dry chemical units, and hydrostatic testing at twelve years. We handle all three intervals, recharge or replace units that fail, and mount new extinguishers where the fire code requires additional coverage. We stock ABC dry chemical extinguishers for general commercial use, CO2 units for electrical rooms and server closets, and Class K extinguishers for commercial kitchens. Kitchen Hood and Ansul Systems

Restaurant hood suppression systems need service every six months. We inspect and service wet chemical systems, including Ansul R-102 and comparable UL 300 listed systems. A service visit covers fusible link replacement, nozzle placement and caps, the manual pull station, the gas shutoff valve, and the system tag. If your system predates UL 300 or no longer matches the cooking line under it, we will tell you what has to change before it can pass inspection.

Fire Sprinkler Systems

We perform NFPA 25 inspections on commercial sprinkler systems at the quarterly, annual, and five-year intervals, along with repairs, sprinkler head replacement, and gauge changes. Five-year certifications on older Oakland buildings regularly turn up corroded pipe and obstructed heads. We document what we find and quote any repair before doing the work.

Exit and Emergency Lighting

Exit signs and emergency lights are required to run for 90 minutes on battery power. We test fixtures, replace batteries, lamps, and complete units, and provide annual certification. Dead backup batteries are the most common failure and one of the most common write-ups on a fire inspection.

Backflow Preventers

Backflow assemblies on fire lines and domestic water service need annual testing. We test, repair, and replace backflow preventers and file the test reports with the water utility, which for most Oakland properties is EBMUD.

Fire Code Compliance Inspections

If you have a fire marshal inspection coming up, or you have already received a notice of violation, we can walk the property first, list what is likely to be cited, and correct the items within our trade: extinguishers, exit lighting, hood suppression, and sprinkler deficiencies. That is usually cheaper than correcting the same items on a re-inspection deadline.
